Helping finalize Walcott Adams Verneuille Architects’ green vision, Artcraft Awning was contacted based on a referral to help convert a pre-existing building into
Fairhope’s Windmill Market.

The market features 65 open-air spaces that change each weekend offering
produce, arts and crafts and the awnings were an essential part in completing the entirely sustainable location.
By extending the market’s roof, the awnings provide shade and weather protection for perimeter vendors. In addition to providing a practical use for the market, the awnings have also proved important in completing the market’s “green” aesthetic appeal.

“The awnings were such an important part of the
transition of the old run-down building into the market we have today,” said Mac Walcott,
Windmill Market’s architect.

Providing shade, weather protection, and visual appeal, our awnings have helped Windmill Market transition a pre-existing building into its current uniquely green, sustainable location.

listen up, humans

listen up, humans

Oye -- that means listen up -- we, the creatures known as north american rock doves (or flying rats or whatever you please), would like to thank the human population for creating the environment for which we have evidently evolved.

before you came, there were not enough blue cliff rocks to nest on, and not enough natural sandwich-dropping species to keep an eye on. we are having a good run with your cities. this proves it was all meant to be: placing this blue awning by the bus stop was part of nature's or the great feathered goddess's plan, but it is still appropriate to thank you humans for being the agents of that miracle. (oh, and there is no flying spaghetti monster, or this awning would be the color of marinara sauce.)

oye! muchas gracias!
